Central Vacuum Maintenance

Central Vacuum Maintenance

Central Vacuum Maintenance, here you’ll find concise information on maintaining your Drainvac central vacuum equipment.

All mechanical systems require basic maintenance. We recommend servicing the motor brushes after 500 hours of operation. For residential use, this typically means checking them every 3 to 5 years, and for commercial use, every 1 to 2 years.

Dry Units Only

For units with dust bags, replace the bag when it is full. We recommend cleaning the cage filter each time you replace the bag. If your vacuum has an Activac 3 filter on the air outlet, it should be replaced annually to ensure optimal air quality.

Cyclonic and Automatic Units

These units are easy to maintain. We recommend performing a visual inspection through the porthole window once a year. You can also clean the inside of the unit with a sponge by unscrewing the porthole window.
